IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Queen Chrysalis
Canon: Take a wild guess
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: post season 3
History: Give me all your love…
Personality: As a changeling, one of Chrysalis’ strongest traits is her adaptability. As their queen, her adaptability extends far beyond just her shapeshifting. She’s observant and tactical in her approach to things, making her very proficient in scouting and covert missions. Even if the time comes when she can’t keep attention off of herself, Chrysalis is a gifted liar and actress, capable of playing any part the situation calls for.
But of course, her aptitude for acting can’t be mentioned without her impeccable manipulation capabilities. Chrysalis’ words can sway a crowd to follow her opinion, but most of the time, she uses them to deceive others into doing what she wants them to do. She doesn’t care for others enough to be concerned about what they think or how they feel; the only thing that matters to Chrysalis is how useful others can be to her purposes and what it’ll take to make them do what she wants. As prideful as she is, underhanded tactics aren’t above her, whether that involves taking hostages, using her magic to directly put others under her control or just general deception. Hell, she used a royal wedding as an opportunity to sneak into Canterlot and begin an invasion on Equestria by posing as Princess Cadence, an act that would’ve worked perfectly if not for Twilight Sparkle’s intervention.
Though there’s something to be said about her pride and not many of them are good. She loves letting others know of her status as a queen and asserting her superiority over others…but there can be times when her ego can get to her head. Chrysalis is a girl who loves reveling in her triumphs...perhaps a bit more than she should. It’s entirely plausible (and canon) for others to sneak around her pride and do what needs to be done in order to get the upper hand on her. As such, she can lose her temper when things don’t work her way, but given how well she can turn a situation to her advantage, it’s not often they’ll see her so upset…that is, unless, she has it out for someone.
Though aside from pride, anger and perhaps fear, there really aren’t many emotions she’s capable of. As a changeling, she’s literally incapable of emotions, particularly positive ones like happiness and love. However, this works in her favor as a she challenges her enemies as a heartless tyrant. To her, showing emotion is showing weakness, weakness she’ll readily pounce on like the predator she is. Emotions only mean two things to her: things that she can take advantage of to manipulate others and a food source for herself and her changelings.
But despite her despicable nature, Chrysalis isn’t completely evil. She’s just so selfish and so determined to accomplish her own goals that she doesn’t care who gets trampled along the way. After all, the main reason behind her invasion of Equestria was to provide enough food to feed her kingdom and Equestria’s love is enough to make her armies an unstoppable force. It’s said that the only ones Chrysalis will show anything resembling kindness is her changelings, but even then, that’s because of her role as their queen and their undying loyalty to her, no matter what…which describes her pretty well, actually. So long she has you completely under her control and ready to do her bidding, she’ll work to keep you that way. If you’re not, then she’ll take advantage of you however she can, provided you can get her what she wants. Otherwise, you may as well be the ground beneath her hooves.

SAMPLES
First Person: Well, it’s quite an interesting experience for all of you, isn’t it? So many ripped out of your homes and forced to live here, among those ponies…there’s no need to worry, however; they have more than enough love to share. After all, they’ve already taken you into their homes, haven’t they?
Perhaps you’ll be enraptured by what this world has to offer apart from yours…or perhaps you have your hearts set on returning home. Either way, you shouldn’t hesitate to get acquainted to the home those ponies so generously share with you. After all, you wouldn’t want such supportive treatment unreciprocated, would you? The sooner you learn how things work, the sooner you can do away with such negative emotion and, by proxy, progress your own goals. Your love won’t go unappreciated; I can assure you that.
Third Person: With Chrysalis keeping such a close eye on Equestria ever since her failed invasion at the wedding, the arrival of other worlders didn’t escape her attention. It didn’t halt her the process of her revenge in the slightest…in fact, this could certainly work to her advantage. Those from beyond this world suddenly taking refuge here? All of Equestria, especially the princesses, will have their eyes on them the entire time they’re here. It all worked too well into her calculations; the flames of her revenge were strong, but Chrysalis knew better than to blindly charge in. She needed an opportunity to sneak back in and proceed with her reconnaissance…and this was the perfect opportunity.
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of this was the center of attention, the town where many of them seem to gather: Ponyville. She could blend right into ground zero, just pick up any random pony appearance and pose as someone completely unfamiliar with the world and everything would just click into place. She may even get to spy on the princesses, if she plays her cards right…but even with all of this considered, that wasn’t the best part of it. No, the strongest part of this was the fact that Ponyville played hometown to the pony who Chrysalis had every intent of running into the ground: Twilight Sparkle. Even with her coronation, it seems as though Twilight wasn’t immune to the outsiders. A clone of herself seems to have arrived on the scene as well…one who very obviously wasn’t a princess. She knew it wasn’t one of her changelings, but the thought of two Twilights could prove very troublesome…or if things worked in the changeling queen’s favor, could double the payoff of exacting her revenge. With time, an opportunity will come and she can wait as long as necessary.
